Margaret and Javier got married at Crane Melon Barn in Rohnert Park, CA, and it was a perfect day! I had already met these two doing their engagement photos last year, so I was excited to see and work with them again. It’s crazy how quick my clients wedding days come up! We started the day in Petaluma at a house Margaret rented for the girls to get ready. It was an old school house with a lot of character, and we got some great shots there! Then we headed over to the venue where we had a first look, then went right into the ceremony and reception. I always love shooting at Crane Melon. It’s great to feel familiar with a place, and with their staff (hi Janis!). Here are some of my favorite moments from the day:
–One of Margaret’s bridesmaids sadly had to drop out of the wedding, as she lives out of state and is now very pregnant. The girls made sure to include her in the getting ready process by having her on FaceTime, and we even FaceTimed her again during bridal party photos so she could “get a photo” with Margaret. SO SO Sweet!
–Margaret included both of her dads in everything. She did a first look with both of them, and her stepdad cut into her dance with her dad so that she was able to dance with both as well. It was very sweet!
–Javier is hilarious. He had Margaret laughing the whole night on the dance floor. If I had to guess, I’d say this is one of the things she adores about him.
–Margaret is ALSO hilarious… during the garter removal, she had hidden a 40 of Smirnoff Ice between her legs and “iced” Javier as he went in for the garter. I didn’t even see her stick it there, it was absolutely hilarious!
–I never thought I’d meet another person who loves rose gold more than I do, but I’m pretty sure Margaret does. There were rose gold confetti balloons all over the rental house, rose gold accents everywhere (including in both of their rings) and Margaret even changed into rose gold comfy shoes for dancing.
–I think the Maid of Honor’s speech was my favorite so far this year. So touching, so well thought out, and perfectly executed! Awesome job!
