Mountain House Estate Wedding: Austin & Courtney

I met Courtney and Austin last year when I took their engagement photos. I loved them instantly, both individually and as a couple, and also learned that Courtney was a microblading artist. Lucky for me she’s the best there is, and she did SUCH an amazing job microblading my brows! If you want to see some of her work, check out her insta: @court_shull

Courtney & Austin tied the knot at Mountain House Estate on Highway 128 just past Cloverdale. I think the official address is in Cloverdale, but it’s a little further up the highway. I absolutely love this venue. I’ve done many weddings here, and I love how each and every one is so different from the others, and I love the way they allow you to customize your event! The space has so much to offer and is absolutely stunning. Courtney & Austin had their ceremony at the oak tree at the top of the property, but did a first look prior to that with just the two of them. I am always torn on first looks, because I’m always afraid it will take the emotion out of the “walking down the aisle” moment, but I’m also thankful for the time they save, and the jitters they get rid of. In this case I was doubly blessed because we got all the perks of the first look, and Austin STILL got emotional watching Courtney walk down the steps of the aisle. YAY! I’m such a sap (yes, I cried too). One of my favorite moments though, was when Courtney was walking towards Austin, and he’s wiping tears from his eyes, her high heel got stuck in the wood of the step. I mean STUCK. It really brought a sense of levity to moment, and Austin yelled out, “NICE.” Everyone had a nice laugh and the ceremony continued on perfectly.

Every single detail about their day was perfect–they had an amazing bridal party, awesome families, fun guests, beautiful decor, and lots of love for each other. This was the first time I’d seen the dance floor utilized on the patio, and I have to say that I LOVED the light it presented. The sun was peeking through just perfectly, and Courtney & Austin were just gorgeous dancing together in front of their guests. I have to say in all honesty that was one of my favorite moments. I also loved that Austin split his mother-son dance with both his mom and stepmom–these sweet moments are really what make me love photographing weddings!

Courtney & Austin — I love you both, and am so happy to have been apart of your day. I know you guys will have a long and happy marriage together! So excited to see what’s in store for your future! <3
