You may recognize Lacey & Chuy from their engagement session I did earlier this year, which is one of my favorites to date! I just knew then, and said it then, that their wedding would be a blast and I was definitely not wrong. They are two of the most genuine, fun-loving, love-filled people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing! I was honored to shoot their nelson family vineyards wedding. I’d never been to this venue, located between Hopland and Ukiah, but was immediately blown away by it’s beauty. So many photo opportunities all over the property! Lacey’s dress was one of my favorites I’ve ever seen, and Chuy was just so enamored with her the entire day. It was so special to be apart of!
Here are some of my favorite moments from the day:
–{not pictured because she’d kill me} my hair stylist is friends with the bride, and was trying to get me to take Tequila shots (with Lacey’s support!) the entire reception.
–Lacey was soooo nervous during the ceremony, but you can tell that just being with Chuy calmed her.
–Lacey & Chuy bought their cake topper 5 years ago on a trip to Mexico together. As they say, “When you know, you know!”
–Sometimes the light is just right. That was the case when we went and took photos by the barn, and a ray of sun was just beaming on Lacey & Chuy perfectly. I even showed the image to them on the back of my camera, so they’d know it was all natural and not some photoshop magic!
–Lacey’s dad’s speech went a little something like this: “Roses are red, my gun is blue, you hurt her and I’ll kill you.” MIC DROP.
–Lacey’s niece had heels on for the ceremony, and her feet were killing her by the time it was over, so Chuy carried her to the spot we were doing photos. Sweetest ever!
–Lacey’s Grandma was absolutely hilarious, and made me miss my own Grammy. Loved seeing her tear up the dance floor barefoot at the end!
