Aaron & Jen were married last year at city hall, but had their celebration and “big wedding” at the Solar Living Institute, in Hopland, CA. It’s a very unique venue, and I’ve driven by it many times so I was excited to be able to check it out! They got ready at the hotel down the street first, which was absolutely gorgeous with all of it’s vintage touches.
IT WAS HOT. I don’t think I can stress this enough–it got up to 107* in Hopland that day, and everyone was feeling the heat and doing all they could to stay cool. Aaron & Jen were absolute troopers, with Jen chugging her Gatorade and Aaron wearing his suit jacket all throughout the ceremony and family photos afterwards. I got hotter just looking at him! They both did all they could to try to beat the heat: cold wet towels for guests, pushing the ceremony back a little bit, and lots of parasols and fans. They even had a fun hashtag, #pzbakeoven (as their last name is Perry-Zucker). Love!
Aaron and Jen are an easygoing, fun, relaxed couple. And, exciting for me, this was my first Jewish wedding! I loved all of the heritage incorporated into the big day. The huppah (Chuppah) they were married under was the same one Aaron’s parents were married under 30 years ago, and it was made by Aaron’s grandmother and aunts. Many other couples were married under it as well, and it is truly a family heirloom! It was so fun to see Aaron break the glass, which someone will make into a mosaic frame for them to cherish for years to come.
One of my favorite moments was during the parents dance. While Jen was dancing with her dad, she stood on his feet like many little girls do when dancing with their daddies. It was such a sweet moment, and brought me back to my own dances I’ve shared with my dad over the years!
Aaron & Jen, thank you so much for a great day! You guys truly were an amazing couple to work with, and we had an amazing time with your families and friends. Here are some of my favorite images:
