Most of you know by now that I lived in Merced from about age 10-17. I spent most of my time at our close family friends’ home there, and around the corner from them lived Chelsey and her siblings. Chelsey is a few years younger than me, but her older sister was friends with my “cousin” so we all spent time together playing in the neighborhood. My dad even always called Chelsey “Chelsey-with-a-Y” and her older sister Tiffany, “Tiffany-with-a-hug”. When I started my photography business over 7 years ago, Chelsey was one of my very first clients as I drove to Merced and took her senior photos. It’s so fun when things come full circle, so I was extra-excited when she asked me to shoot her wedding! There are so many wedding photographers in south lake tahoe ca so I felt very honored that she asked me to take the journey with them!
I stayed the night in Placerville at some friends house the night before so I wouldn’t be rushed the morning of the wedding, and cruising into Tahoe was a breeze. The weather was gorgeous, sunny but not hot, and I was thrilled when I arrived to the cabin they were staying at and saw how gorgeous it was. They kept their nuptials very small as they were getting married on a Tuesday, and only had a few people present including Chelsey’s Mom & Dad, Cameron’s Mom & Brother, and Chelsey’s step-brother arrived to officiate the wedding. I loved how small and intimate everything was–made for a special, unique day! The guys hung out downstairs while Chelsey got ready upstairs, and they didn’t see each other until their first look. Chelsey did a first look with her Dad first (I cried), then with Cameron. After some shots at the cabin, we were off to Logan Shoals Vista where the ceremony took place. Upon arriving at the vista point, we found some guys dressed in costumes. Not only am I not sure if they were wolves or foxes, we also still have no clue what they were doing. That didn’t stop us from getting a photo or two with them! Such a fun little side-piece to the day and you can see the funny photo of Cameron & his brother with them below.
We found the best spot for the ceremony, which was perfect in every way. Chelsey & Cameron wrote their own vows and were so cute as they tried to kiss after each of them read their vows aloud, only to laugh and remember that they had to wait. After the ceremony we headed over to Eagle Falls and did some photos there. It was gorgeous! Chelsey was a trooper climbing around on wet rocks in heels, and Cameron was such a sweet husband helping her every step of the way.
You guys are the sweetest couple–I SO enjoyed being apart of your day, and witnessing the next chapter of your love story. Thank you for including me! I think I can speak for Austin (the videographer) too, in saying that we felt so privileged to be apart of such a tight-knit intimate group! It was truly special <3 SO much love to you both!
