I met Sarah & Dan out at the coast for their maternity photos, and was immediately excited. It was a little windy, to be expected, but it wasn’t that cold–YET. Little did I know just how cold and windy it was going to get! Sarah & Dan were both troopers. When we parked and met, I decided I wanted to check out a new little area, and we walked over and crossed through some mud to get there. Poor Sarah, in flip-flops, got STUCK in the mud! She was able to pull her foot out, but her shoe was lost in the ground. Being a good husband, Dan fished it out for her and even grabbed a golf towel from his car to clean up her shoe and leg/foot the best he could. Obstacle #1, complete. We did some photos up top, then headed down to the water. While we were finishing at the top (which I always say looks like Ireland! Not that I’ve ever been there, but that’s what I imagine it would look like) the wind really started to pick up. There were a couple shots (not included in this post) where you couldn’t even see Sarah’s face because her hair was blowing so much. I’m so thankful that her curls stayed pretty strong right ’til the end! When we got down to the water, it was COLD. The wind was ripping, the air was frigid, and there I was asking them to get in the water. UM, what?! In all fairness, I took my boots off and got in too, to make sure I could get the right shots. It was so cold that we virtually had the whole beach to ourselves! I’d say it was worth it, though. As we were walking out from the beach, and older couple dressed in down jackets, boots, hats, etc., told us we were either brave or nuts–I can’t remember which.
Sarah & Dan, you guys are absolute rockstars, and totally rocked your session! I loved ALL of the images, you guys did so so great! Can’t wait to meet baby <3
