Sara is my best friends cousin, so I was really excited when she asked me to photograph her South Lake Tahoe wedding. She was dreaming of a white, winter wonderland wedding, so when we rolled in to South Lake the day before I was a little nervous. There was absolutely ZERO SNOW on the ground, and the weather predictions had been changing by the day. We joined her and her bridesmaids for her psuedo-bachelorette party that night at the casinos, and on the walk home my best friend and I were absolutely elated to see that it was dumping snow on us. It wasn’t supposed to get above 32* the next day, so we were hopeful it would stay. Spoiler alert, it DID!
Sara & Tyler were married at the Forest Suites Resort. It’s a block behind the main drag in South Lake Tahoe, and only about a 7 minute walk to Harrah’s. It was a 5 minute drive to the lake, so I was so excited that they were on board to head down there after the ceremony for some photos. We were losing light fast, so we had to move quickly, but I couldn’t be happier with the images. It was absolutely breathtaking–the sun was in the perfect position, the lake was gorgeous, there was still snow on the ground, and it even sprinkled a little snow shower on us while we were down there. Talk about getting lucky! I loved the location of the wedding, as it was also right next to a state park that we were able to walk into for photos prior to the ceremony. Everything was absolutely gorgeous, and couldn’t have gone better!
Sara & Tyler, love you both! Thanks so much for having me apart of your day. It was a BLAST! I wish you both the best <3 and I’m sure I’ll see you soon 😉
It was so hard to choose favorites from these images, but here’s just a few to recap the day:
