DJ & Johnny were married at the Dry Creek Inn in Healdsburg on a rainy day in January. I was actually super excited, cuz this was my first full-on rainy wedding, and because I’ve known DJ & Johnny for a long time! I’ve done their family photos, newborn photos, maternity photos, and engagement photos.
Everything about their day was customized to fit who they are, which is my favorite thing about weddings! No cookie cutter, just complete elements of the bride & groom. The boutonnieres had little wrenchs in them since the groom is a mechanic; the bride’s bouquet was made of broaches that belonged to her grandmothers and some of her own; the bride & groom had matching converse and the bridal party did, too… everything was tailored to them, and I loved it! I also loved that their kids were incorporated into their day, and when little Timmy went running down the aisle to see his mommy, everyone cracked up–the same when he found a dollar during one of the speeches–so cute! Their daughter, Evey, came over and helped me shoot during the mother/groom dance, and it was absolutely adorable. Some of my other favorite moments included the bride & groom dance-off (seriously, so good), the groom taking off the garter like a mechanic (on his back!), and all the line-dancing (oh, the memories).
Seriously guys, everything was perfect. Thanks so much for including me! I’m so glad to know you both and to have been apart of such a special day. xoxo
