You may remember Taylor & Megan from their engagement photos I did last year at my house in Windsor. We had such a great time together, I was thrilled to be photographing their special day!
Taylor & Megan were married at a VRBO off Dry Creek Rd in Healdsburg. The house was beautiful, and was the perfect setup for a wedding. Everything was gorgeous! Megan, Taylor, and their family & friends really did an awesome job putting everything together.
One of my favorite things to talk about in my blog posts of weddings, are little moments I saw that may have seemed insignificant to some, or even to the bride and groom, but really touched me. In this case, it happened right away in the ceremony. At the very beginning, everyone took a moment of silence to remember those family and friends who were witnessing the day in spirit. Megan started to get a little choked up, and Taylor automatically reached out and grabbed for her hand to comfort her. I MELTED. You all know I’m a big sap, and this was just such a sweet, poignant moment to me! It really showed a lot about their relationship, and that they always support each other 100%.
Another favorite moment took place during the bridal party photos, so the only people who got to witness it were Megan, her bridesmaids, and some vendor staff (including me). In true badass fashion, Megan cut the top off of a champagne bottle with a knife! Her face is hilarious in the photo of it actually happening, and you can see the cork flying off. Love the reaction and support of all her girls after her success, too!
My third favorite moment isn’t actually a specific moment, but a series of moments. I always expect the mothers of the bride and groom to cry, and love getting a chance to capture that moment (like Megan’s mom crying during the father/daughter dance pictured below). BUT, it’s rare to get dad’s that cry, especially the groom’s dad. Bryan, Taylor’s dad, was emotional at various points throughout the day! I caught him wiping tears during the ceremony, then again while we were taking family photos. Which, of course, made me cry too. So sweet!
Megan and Taylor: The love you have for each other is an absolutely pleasure and honor to witness! Thanks so much for letting me be apart of your day.
