Michelle was actually the one who suggested VML Winery in Healdsburg for the location of her maternity photos. Sometimes as a photographer it’s really nice (and relieving) when clients know where they want to go, or at least have a few suggestions! I always have recommendations of where I like to shoot/don’t like to shoot, but it’s nice to explore many of the hidden wineries/parks/gems of Sonoma County! As soon as Michelle & Jared stepped out of the car I had a good feeling. They were SO friendly, so easy to get along with, and so excited about their baby! We got to VML around 6, so the winery was actually closed, but we had advanced permission to run amuck on the grounds. I was so impressed–the swing was beautiful, the steps were beautiful, and even the little stone walls everywhere provided so much variety! Everything was going great until the mosquitos came. I felt so bad for Michelle–by the time we finished, she had WELTS on her arms from the bites. YUCK! That’s the one thing I hate about “the golden hour” in summer. Thanks so much for a truly wonderful evening guys. I really enjoyed it, and can’t wait to photograph your little bundle of Joy NEXT MONTH!!
