Not only because of the jaw-dropping views, the incredible people, and the unforgettable dance party inside a rustic barn, but also because of the pure joy and energy that filled the entire day.
The Perfect Couple, The Perfect Vibes
From the moment I met Cayla and Brandon, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special. These two radiate warmth, and their families? Absolute gems. There was no awkward ice-breaking needed—everyone just clicked! We laughed, we celebrated, and we made memories that will last a lifetime. Cayla is hilarious–her and I get along so great. We both have the same somewhat crude humor at times, and were cracking up over the same silly stuff most of the day.
The Ranch at Lake Sonoma provided the dreamiest backdrop for their big day. The rolling hills, the shimmering lake, and the golden sun made for a photographer’s paradise. The ceremony took place overlooking the stunning lake, creating a breathtaking setting for Cayla and Brandon to say “I do.”
Surprise & Laughter: The Flower Dude Moment
One of the absolute highlights of the day? The Flower Dude. Oh yes, you read that right! Instead of a traditional flower girl, there was a Flower Dude, who absolutely stole the show as he strutted down the aisle, tossing petals with flair and handing out beers to guests. If I remember correctly, this was a total surprise for Brandon, and his reaction was priceless! It was the perfect mix of fun and unexpected, setting the tone for the rest of the day. I also loved that he walked Cayla & Brandon’s dog down the aisle, and had her be apart of the day…almost as much as I loved him throwing petals directly onto Brandon.
Romance, Laughter & A Barn Party to Remember
Despite the warm temperatures, seriously one of the hottest weddings I’ve ever shot, Cayla and Brandon were absolute champs. They soaked in every moment, from their heartfelt first look to the emotional vows and beyond. Their golden hour portraits? Absolute magic. But if you thought the day was fun, the night took it to a whole new level!
The reception inside an old barn was nothing short of epic. Once the sun dipped below the hills, the dance floor exploded with energy. Drinks were flowing, feet were moving, and the love in the air was undeniable. From emotional toasts to wild dance-offs, it was one of those receptions where you just felt the joy radiating from every corner of the room.
