…she said yes.
Connor reached out to me a couple weeks ago to ask me to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend Luca. He had gifted her a couple’s session for Valentine’s Day, but little did she know, the session would be so much more. We touched base multiple times, and had planned to shoot on Sunday. The weather quickly went south on us, so on Thursday evening we decided to make Friday, the one day of sunshine, work for us. They had a spot on a friend’s private property to shoot at in Healdsburg, so that we could utilize Sonoma County’s mustard fields. The mustard is absolutely gorgeous, though it’s presence is fleeting in the spring time so I was happy we were able to make it work!
Connor and I had everything planned out–he wanted to propose at the end of the shoot in case Luca cried and messed up her make up (smart man, and she did) and when I told them we were gonna get ready to wrap up, he’d say he needed to grab some water from the car so that he could actually, in fact, grab the ring. We started at one end of the property that had some gorgeous trees and mustard flowers in vineyards, then moved down the road to a full, wide open mustard field. They brought a special bottle of wine that they enjoyed during the session, and we had an absolute blast hanging out together. It’s so incredibly special to be apart of these moments in people’s lives.
People like Connor and Luca remind me of why I love this job so much. I was able to share hugs and happy tears with them, and can’t wait to see how the rest of their love story plays out! <3 This was one of my very favorite Sonoma County proposal s. Thanks you two! Wishing you all the very best!
