Mikayla & Deric contacted me for some couples photos for the holidays, and I had a great time at our session! We laughed SO hard, SO much, which is always my fave. They were up for whatever I threw at them, were willing to play some games with me to ensure genuine smiles, and were the first ones I got to test a new lens on! All of that = winning!
We did have a career first for me at the end of our session. We hit a couple of Healdsburg wineries for our session, and of course, had advanced permission from both wineries to be there. We went to Soda Rock first, and I want to make it clear that since their logo is in the photos, this was not the winery we had a “problem” at. The second winery we went to, which shall remain nameless, only asked that we didn’t get their logo in any of the shots. We used their beautiful driveway and then headed up to a side garden they had near a building. For the first time in my career, I (we) got locked IN a winery! We didn’t get locked in the building itself, which my BFF said would be a dream, but on their property. The gates were arm gates with padlocks (not automatic gates) and we were a little concerned when we realized they were locked. Mikayla & Deric were in a very large truck, as you can see in the photos, but my poor little Mazda3 was our bigger concern. I thought I was going to have to call my husband, a welder, to come get me outta there! LOL! We eventually found a spot where I was able to go off-roading in my car, and Deric & Mikayla made sure I got out ok first before they followed behind me. Oh, did I mention that from where one of the gates was locked, you could most DEFINITELY see our cars?! Whoever locked it HAD to have known we were there! AND it was almost dark. A little intense at the moment, but absolutely hilarious after the fact.
