Margaret was referred to me by a friend of a friend, and wanted some photos done of her, her husband Eric, and their 6 month old baby Anabelle. After some talk back & forth, she decided to have the session at her in-laws house, as they have property near Healdsburg. I wasn’t sure to expect when I got there–but when Margaret told me I better ride with them in their SUV, since she didn’t think my car would “make it”, I was instantly excited. We went up some pothole filled hills through beautiful rolling vineyards, ’til we stopped with a gorgeous view at a set of old doors on the fence-line. I was confused…how did these doors get here in the middle of nothing?! Turns out, they had had their wedding there a couple years ago! Again: instantly excited. I love when props just pop up out of nowhere, and I love even more when a shoot location has meaning to the couple/person/family I’m working with. We had a great time! I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was up there, I bet they got tired of me saying that… (sorry gusy!) but it REALLY was. We also went up to another little spot, a cute tree with some gorgeous light. We tried to get a Giants themed photo at the end, but Anabelle was telling us she was over it at that point. Hey, I always say, babies are in charge! They tell us when they’re done and they’ve had enough, or when something wasn’t properly outlined in their contract 😉
I had such a great time with these guys, and like I said, thoroughly enjoyed the property. Just stunning! Every time I do a photo session for someone new, I am so humbled and thankful; there are so many incredible, talented, amazing photographers in Sonoma County, I thank you for choosing me!
Gonna be hard to pick some favorites, but here goes…
